YoRHA apparently is not a person, it's a group consisting girls under Moe Japan Production. And maybe it'll make more sense after playing the game in English.ītw I got it. If they didn't include interpretation it could be a little too hardcore, it'd be like - here, decypher THIS. And it's cool that the lyrics and interpretation are provided for it. Not normal language but not completely gibberish. This is pretty interesting! I totally like the idea of what they did there. It also includes the hilarious discussion between Yoko Taro and Zero, as well as Okabe Keiichi's liner notes.

xPĪnyway, I have the lyrics in the crazy full katakana, romaji, Japanese interpretation, as well as my Japanese interpretation on my page below. Having the meaning completely spelled out after it, of course, helps. It takes a lot of imagination to get the meaning, but even so, it's not impossible. Just imagine English without any articles or direction words, only leaving nouns and a few verbs.

so maybe she was featured more in the non-boss battles? I'd have to research YoRHa further to distinguish their voices apart.Īctually, although it's difficult to read full katakana like that, there is still meaning in there, although it is very basic. I'll try to get more info from her, but if you're just judging on voice alone, she has the more operatic voice. I did some research last night and I remember listening to some vocal samples, and it sounded like Nakagawa Nami I'll have to check again.Įdit: I asked her via twitter and she responded that she didn't have the CD around to check, but she credited herself with these three tracks:Ġ4 侵贖 / Raid of Redemption - Battle StageĬomposition: Takahashi Kuniyuki & Okabe KeiichiĬomposition & Arrangement: Ishihama Kakeru I believe that's Nakagawa Nami.but I suppose it could be YoRHa, too. think about things on a larger scale and on personal scale. That music is easy to listen to, and then eventually it kinda makes you think about what's important. Nier stays with the person for its emotianl value, there's something about that music that I can't put my finger on it, but it's like something simple and basic yet very important. The games have different tones, or different driving forces if you will. I think a DOD soundtrack isn't suppose to sound like Nier in the first place even if it's done by the same people as Nier. and I also have a difficult time listening to some of those boss themes simply because it brings me back to those fights.which pletely. There are still some great things coming out of the DOD3 soundtrack, though. It's difficult for me to say one is better than the other, but for me, I still like Nier better because of its style and extensive character development and emotional soundtrack.

Plus, Okabe did exactly what Yoko Taro told him to do-to do something DIFFERENT from Nier. Since DOD3 is less character-based compared to Nier and much more action-based, there needed to be more ACTION in the music as well-I mean, just check out those boss themes, for example. The two games were very different and therefore require a different type of soundtrack. So, I really don't think you can compare this soundtrack with Nier. Y: As long as you buy it, it won’t matter if you don’t listen to it. O: A lot of work went into the making of this CD, so I would be extremely pleased if you give it a listen. Y: Okabe-san has worked very hard to burn this CD, so everyone please relax and wait for its release. ……Umm- Well, finally could you say something to your fans…

O: I told you, I can’t say such portentous things! Y: Even so, if you’re professional, you must have thought, “I tried to make new ground. O: C’mon, this has nothing to do with music. Y: Like an overindulging feeling, perhaps? Like a challenging, avant-garde style? That’s what it feels like. I made them as I was told but I kept wondering “Is this okay?” until the very end. O: Yeah but, to have written this many different sounding songs… Y: But it’s not interesting to only do the same thing, right? O: Because, you kept telling me, “Make it sound different from Nier, different from Nier” so much, like a curse, that I ended up making something with a completely different pattern… Y: No, how about, “We really made an awesome product with this one, so be sure to buy it” or something like that? Y: Ah, would you like us to make a comment for the sountrack? O: You know, we just kinda came here without anyone calling us in…… I’m Okabe Keiichi, acting as musical director for DOD3.
